A LOCAL family bought the Boathouse at Portelet for £200,000 at an auction on Saturday.
Tim and Lena Chesney were unable to attend because they were out of the island, so were represented at the auction.
The couple said afterwards that they were delighted to have purchased 'this unique and historical property on one of Guernsey's most picturesque beaches'.
'This is a long-term investment which we now look forward to enjoying with family and friends.'
Approximately 80 people turned up to the auction, led by Cooper Brouard.
