A LACK of parking is not an issue in Guernsey, an Environment Department survey has suggested.
The department today launches a new island-wide consultation for its long-awaited transport strategy.
Titled 'a fresh start' the document asks for feedback on a range of issues, such as the large number of vehicles, the adequacy of public transport and the cost of taxis, with a view to complete its study by 21 June. It then plans to present a transport strategy to the States by the end of the year.
Each area for discussion has been formed from feedback from a survey of 550 households and comments from roughly 30 stakeholder groups.
Environment member Deputy Yvonne Burford was surprised that the survey did not identify a lack of car parking as an issue.
