Missing yachtsman's body is identified

AUTHORITIES have officially confirmed that a body washed up on the French coast is missing yachtsman Rene Morvan.

And French police have opened their own investigation into the 63-year-old's death.

Mr Morvan went overboard while travelling on the yacht Jouvente with three other men two weeks ago.

Guernsey Police, who arrested the three other sailors after it took them four hours to report the missing man, are now in discussions about the legal jurisdiction for the investigation.

The three arrested men were all released on bail on condition that they return to Guernsey and attend the police station on a date in June.
