CYCLISTS taking part in the 20th Rocque to Rock challenge have highlighted the great sense of community among their fellow riders.

The 23-mile cycle around the island in aid of Les Bourgs Hospice took place yesterday.

Collette Mechem, 43, rode the nine-mile route from Grandes Rocques with her son Finlay, 7.

'It was our first time - we did it with some friends from work. It's been a brilliant day,' she said.

The Rocque to Rock also signified the end of the 30/30 Cycle Challenge, also in aid of Les Bourgs, in which participants ride for one hour each day for 30 days.
