HUNDREDS of motorcyclists took to the road yesterday to pay their respects to Drummer Lee Rigby, who was killed outside Woolwich Barracks just over a week ago.

The group left Vazon at 2pm and rode around the island in an anti-clockwise direction to the Smith Street War Memorial, where wreaths were laid on behalf of the Guernsey branch of the Royal British Legion.

Co-organiser Kas Swarbrick, 49, the Green Man MCC vice president, who works for Alderney Shipping, said the idea had come to her on Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs Swarbrick's appeal on Facebook on Tuesday evening attracted the attention of Sarnians MC UK rep, Martin Le Page, 26, who is serving with the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery.
