DIFFERENCES in fees charged by doctors' surgeries are not significant, but there is no evidence to suggest that GP practices have collaborated when setting them, the regulator has said.

Channel Islands Competition Regulatory Authorities chief executive Andrew Riseley was responding to questions about whether he was content with the efforts surgeries had made to introduce more competition.

The body had warned the three medical practices last year that they could be fined if they continued to fix prices, following the implementation of the new competition law.

Mr Riseley, pictured, said it appeared the companies had taken steps to make sure fees fitted within the competition ordinance.
