GUERNSEY FC's FA Cup dream may be over before it has even begun.

Unexpected costs sprung on them by the FA ahead of their maiden campaign has led to Green Lions chairman Steve Dewsnip going to the local community for help.

He is asking for at least 60 businesses to pledge £100 each per match in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy to help underwrite any financial losses, which would allow the club to play in the prestigious competitions.

'It is the board's view that it is too big a risk for the club to undertake without any additional financial support,' Mr Dewsnip, pictured, said.

  • The Guernsey Press has agreed to be the first company to sign up to donating £100 for every FA Cup and FA Trophy match.
