ST PIERRE Park Hotel was sold for just over £6.8m., it has been revealed.

The purchase of the four-star hotel by Hand Picked Hotels was announced earlier this month and the new owners said there were plans to invest further in the facility.

At the time the deal with Sandpiper CI was for an undisclosed sum, but the price has now been made public.

The arrival of Hand Picked Hotels was welcomed by the Chamber of Commerce tourism and hospitality sub-group chairman Luke Wheadon who described it as a 'boost' to the island.

'I'm delighted Hand Picked Hotels have decided to come to Guernsey,' he said. 'Their pedigree is fantastic.'
