A PETITION calling for the dissolution of the States of Alderney has been handed to the Lieutenant-Governor.

Air Marshal Peter Walker this morning confirmed he had received the petition signed by 253 names.

It follows a vote of no confidence in Policy chairman Paul Arditti, which removed him from the States position.

The Lieutenant-Governor, pictured, said it was not clear if the names were on the electoral roll and some were illegible.

He said he personally was unable to intervene politically, but invited anyone to collect the petition to pass it on elsewhere.
