THE Dornier 228 is one of the aircraft types Aurigny is considering to replace its Trislander fleet, the States-owned airline has confirmed.

CEO Mark Darby announced in April that it would take proposals to the States this year to buy two or three aircraft in place of its six Trislanders.

At the time it became apparent that taxpayers might have to come up with around £15m. to replace the ageing fleet – about £350 from each.

In response to questions sent by the Guernsey Press, Mr Darby said the Dornier 228 was one of the possibilities.

'Aurigny is still looking at several options when it comes to replacing the Trislander, of which Dorniers are one possibility.'
