THE airport arrivals hall clinked with the sound of medals yesterday as Guernsey's NatWest Island Games competitors returned full of stories of success.
Throughout the day contestants arrived on several different flights and were greeted by flag-waving, cheering family members.
Held in Bermuda, the games saw the island finish fifth overall. Sports Commission operations director Graham Chester said that everyone had benefited from going.
'It was a really good event, very well organised and there were lots of high points. It was a learning curve for a lot of the younger ones and there is a good future for sport in the island.'
