PLUMES of dust created by aircraft at Guernsey Airport have stopped because of efforts to damp down dry areas as well as the recent wetter weather, Guernsey Airport has said.
Residents along Route de Plaisance complained two weeks ago about the clouds of dust passing over their properties leaving them unable to open their windows.
Peter Lesbirel, of Lesbirel's Vegetable Stall, took a video of the cloud and posted it on Facebook and Youtube. But Guernsey Airport deputy director Ashley Nicholas believed the problem had now been addressed.
Mr Lesbirel said the issue occurred at the end of July and a cloud of dust was being created every time the new Flybe Embraer 175 jet took off. But it had not happened since he took the video, he added.
Following complaints from neighbours, Guernsey Airport made attempts to address the problem by damping down at night.
