PARALYMPIC legend Tanni Grey-Thompson has been named as patron of the Guernsey Disability Alliance.
The news was revealed on Wednesday evening when members and supporters celebrated the local campaigning charity's fifth birthday at the Guernsey Cheshire Home.
The paralympian and parliamentarian, who won 11 gold medals, said in a personal message to members that she had fantastic memories of her first trip to Guernsey in January.
'As I said at the time, I am shocked that Guernsey doesn't have a disability equality law but at least being so late to the party means you can learn from others' mistakes and develop something simple and effective.'
