CUSTOMERS have blasted as crazy an Environment Department decision not to allow a L'Eree chip shop to operate as a takeaway.
'I think that's terrible – what utter codswallop,' said an exasperated Nadine Clarke, 42, yesterday. 'We come here once a week from Town because the fish and chips are so good. I think that is pathetic.'
Her daughter, Shakira, 11, was forthright in her opinion of the Environment Department, and declared simply: 'That is out of order'.
Lloyd Batiste, 58, could not believe the decision had been made and wanted it reconsidered.
'Overturn it. What a load of rubbish. That is crazy, just crazy.'
Planners have cited insufficient extraction equipment at The New Kingfisher at L'Eree plus plans for an 'ugly' upgrade as reasons to stop people being able to enjoy a portion of fish and chips on the nearby beach.
