A BITTER five-year dispute over the ownership of Cobo car park has finally ended up in court with the man who claims to own the land suing the Castel constables for £10,000.

Thomas Holroyd has launched the legal bid via his company, A. W. Holdings, after constables Kevin Walsh and Bob Falla approved work to the area earlier this year.

He is asking the court to order that the property be reinstated to its former condition and he wants an injunction to restrain the constables from carrying out any further work.

Mr Holroyd is also asking the court to declare that the constables are not entitled to permit anybody to use the car park and he wants £10,000 in damages for 'trespass and conversion'.

Mr Walsh, who has been the senior constable in Castel for three years, said he and his colleague were unable to comment on the legal action because it would be prejudicial.
