A DEPARTING bus driver, who acted as a union representative for his colleagues, has claimed staff are still being pushed to breaking point by CT Plus.

Norman Hercock, who was Unite employee representative until his three-year licence ran out last week, has lifted the lid on the bus service turmoil, claiming long-running issues still remain.

CT Plus issued a strong-worded statement in response, suggesting the claims had been made by a 'disgruntled ex-employee'.

It labelled the claims as historic, resolved or untrue.

Among the many accusations levied at the company by Mr Hercock, he suggests drivers were still working a 'dangerous' number of hours behind the wheel. And he wanted new laws to be fast-tracked to stop it from happening.

Unite union regional officer Bob Lanning backed the former driver, saying staff were working hours that would be unacceptable in the UK, although he acknowledged improvements had been made.
