Post-16 studies all under one roof is Education's vision
PLANS to bring all post-16 students under one roof have been unveiled by the Education Department.
The department yesterday announced it is in 'urgent need' of a single dedicated site where resources could potentially be shared between the likes of the Grammar School Sixth Form Centre, Guernsey Training Agency, College of Further Education and the Institute of Health and Social Care Studies.
Board member Richard Conder, pictured, said it was the department's vision to see more collaboration between education providers.
It is unclear what the impact could be on the current Sixth Form Centre building, which was purpose-built in 2005.
'The department's vision identifies the possibility of developing in the longer term our tertiary institution – it is one that is a long way from completion and involves a collaborative partnership with a whole range of other providers,' he said.
'Part of our vision addresses the urgent need for a fixed site for the development of post-16 education on this island.
