Lawyers consulted as douzaine row continues

LEGAL advice has been taken by at least one member of St Peter Port douzaine in the wake of the Town centre manager dispute.

As the row over the appointment of Jack Honeybill to the role refused to die down, it emerged that douzenier Neil Forman had become so concerned over the war of words that he had made sure he was on the right side of the law.

'I took legal advice, just to find out where I stood. The constables and Town Centre Partnership are giving conflicting statements so I found out where I stood.

'Nothing being said is malicious.'

Mr Forman also said he had not fallen foul of a new code of conduct which was, he said, 'voluntary'A new code of conduct recently adopted is, Mr Forman said, 'voluntary' and is not written in law, and as such does not have to be strictly adhered to.
