GUERNSEY retailers have to realise they cannot continue trading as they used to and need to up their professionalism and good customer service, one Bridge trader has warned.

Ray and Scott Jewellers managing director Martin Search, pictured, said the industry was changing with the growth of online shopping.
'People have to be careful with their pricing structure and have to be aware that the internet is easier.
'I think there should be less timing constraints and I think opening hours should be more reasonable and set by the retailer.'
Mr Search was speaking following the announcement that department and homeware store Quayside would be closing, with the loss of 25 jobs, in January.
'We're obviously really upset that Quayside is closing but I understand it's not really retail reasons. My perception is that if it was working well they would have continued to run it,' he added.
'But I don't think it will affect the Bridge too much because it has a passing trade.'
Mr Search added that he would like to see some movement with the Leale's Yard development.
