'Bullying' claim as two St Saviour's douzeniers quit

ALLEGATIONS of intimidation and bullying have been made against the St Saviour's douzaine after a row erupted over the proposed sale of the douzaine room.

Two douzeniers, Corinne Connolly and Elizabeth Pirouet-Douglas, have resigned with immediate effect after being 'uncomfortable' with a number of discussions that have recently taken place.

They are also unhappy with the douzaine's recommendation, which it will take to a parishioner vote next month, to sell the current La Grande Rue Douzaine Room and move to the St Saviour's Community Centre.

In a statement released on behalf of the douzaine, senior constable Darrel Bertrand said members were 'surprised and disappointed' that the two women had approached the Guernsey Press to air alleged grievances. But he said the douzaine had no further comment to make.
