Car ends on roof after hitting vehicle and wall
A DRIVER was taken to hospital yesterday evening after his vehicle hit a parked car and a wall before flipping onto its roof.
Emergency services attended the incident in Church Road, St Sampson's, shortly after 6pm.
The Fire and Rescue Service had to stabilise the man's white Hyundai i20 before officers worked with the Ambulance and Rescue Service to get him out of it.
The Hyundai had struck a parked Mini Cooper, which was pushed into a car in front of it by the impact.
Ambulance and Rescue Service station officer Jason Garnham said the driver, who sustained minor injuries, was put on a spinal board as a precaution before being taken to Accident and Emergency.
Church Road residents rushed out to help the man.
Freda Le Page, 87, was in her home when she heard the accident. It was her garden wall that the car hit.
'I heard a loud bang,' she said. 'It shook the house. I've lived here 60-odd years – we've had one or two crashes around here, but none like this.'
