Idlerocks decision goes to open planning meeting
A MULTI-MILLION-pound five-star hotel is one step closer to replacing the burnt-out former Idlerocks, after planners recommended it be granted permission.
The final decision on the £20m. rebuild at Jerbourg rests with the Environment board at an open planning meeting next week.
While planners have suggested it be given the green light, a list of conditions have been attached should it be approved, to protect the environmental area and the amenity of neighbouring properties.
More than 10 years after first being ravaged by fire, the site will also see the creation of a three-bedroom house, and have parking for 73 vehicles.
Plans for the luxury facility to the west of the existing structure were revealed last year by architects Lovell Ozanne, on behalf of client Ramle Rocks.
The open planning meeting is on Tuesday 16 September at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital at 8.45am.
