Extensive flooding after morning downpour
HEAVY rain led to extensive flooding across the island this morning, as Guernsey endured one its wettest days this year.

A Guernsey Police spokeswoman said officers had been called to Les Vauxbelets, the Longstore end of the Bouet, Route des Coutanchez, Route Isabelle and the Rohais.
There was also deep standing water on Vale Road, Route Militaire, Landes du Marche and Kings Mills.
A Guernsey Met Office spokesman said between 10am yesterday and 7.30am this morning 52mm of rain had fallen. The average for October is 95mm.
'We've had well over half a month's rainfall,' the spokesman said.
States Works was meeting with staff this morning to discuss how to deal with the floods.
