La Mare rebuild plans finally unveiled
LONG-AWAITED £60m. plans to rebuild La Mare De Carteret schools, which are today revealed by Education, have been hit by opposition from Treasury in its bid to potentially delay, scale-down and strip millions from the project.

Education, school teachers and students, however, have warned against any fresh hold-ups and of potentially another 'lost generation' if the department cannot finally go out to tender for construction.
Education is now holding last minute talks with Treasury, ahead of next month's States meeting, after the department claimed up to potentially £7m. could be stripped from costs and refused to give its backing to the plans.
