Aurigny has hired a Let twin turboprop 410, complete with two pilots and an engineer, to take the strain off its Trislander operation while it phases in its newly acquired Dornier 228.

The Dornier 228, which also carries up to 19 passengers, arrived in Guernsey from Portugal on Sunday. The Let 410 has been leased from Czech operator Van Air Europe and it also arrived at the weekend.

Aurigny chief operating officer Mark Darby said the aircraft would be kept for a couple of weeks as a 'belt and braces' move to ensure that the transition ran smoothly.
