Trislanders' case argued

A GROUP of Trislander campaigners has claimed Aurigny's plan to replace the 'cheap, versatile workhorse' with three Dorniers is an expensive mistake.

Aurigny has always strongly defended its decision to phase out the Trislanders.

Campaigners were approached by Guernsey's Scrutiny Committee to provide evidence for its inquiry into the security of the Bailiwick's air links.

Headed by residents John Cadoret, a former Aurigny operations manager, Dickin Drew and Mike Harrisson, the group argues that instead of spending around £1m. on three second-hand Dorniers, Aurigny should instead have properly investigated the viability of investing in five new Trislanders.
