Polar Bear swim attracts hundreds
HUNDREDS of islanders got Christmas Day off to a chilly start as they ventured down to the bathing pools for the annual Polar Bear swim.

The morning saw sunny weather with a high tide, meaning some of the spectators got splashed as they watched while some swimmers went in for a quick dip and others stayed in the water for a bit longer.
The event is organised by the Guernsey Swimming Club.
President Chris Butt said there had been some keen swimmers at 8.30am.
'It is really successful and a great atmosphere.
'Apparently the water is a bit warmer.
'We have a high tide today and everyone seems to really enjoy it.'
