CFE talks to industry about its requirements
RELATIONSHIP building was on the cards when Guernsey industry attended a series of forums at the College of Further Education.
The last three days has seen the Coutanchez campus host representatives from IT and digital communications, engineering, hospitality, finance, hair and beauty, sports, HSSD and the creative arts, among others, in an effort to build better relationships between industries and the college.
College principal Saboohi Famili said it was part of an ongoing conversation – dubbed Today, Tomorrow, Together – between education providers and employers, with the aim of making tertiary education provision relevant for today's business needs.
'This has been an exciting opportunity for the college and we are delighted with how it has all gone,' she said.
'The structure of each forum contained three key elements, namely finding out whether people were happy with what course content is available through the college, ascertaining whether people were happy with the level of qualifications available and if people were satisfied with the methods of course delivery.'
