The historic move, described as 'momentous' by its principal Andrew Warren, pictured, will see current Year 6 boys joining girls entering Year 7 at the Catholic college.
Mr Warren said preparations to accommodate the boys were now taking place.
Male locker rooms and toilets are being installed and staff are finalising the design for a boys' uniform.
The school will also be introducing resistant materials – metal and woodwork – to the curriculum for both boys and girls.
'This is an exciting time,' said Mr Warren.
'It's also a nervous time as we are going into an era we have not had before.
'But we are confident that what we have done will provide equal opportunities for boys and girls.'
