JUST a day after getting back into service, the Condor Liberation was operating to a revised timetable.

The vessel had been rescheduled to run two hours behind its timetable yesterday – but the final sailing between Guernsey and Poole did not arrive in Dorset until a further two hours later, at 4am this morning, rather than just before midnight.

The ferry company posted on its website that the new £50m. vessel was running slower than planned due to the onboard engine safety system restricting the engine RPM while adjustments are made to the starboard main engine fuel pump pressure regulator valve.

'As a result, Condor Liberation will operate the following service on reduced power as some adjustments had to be made to the starboard main engine fuel pump pressure regulator valve.'

'Our on-board and shore engineers are working hard to get her back to full speed as soon as possible,' it stated.

The early morning sailing from Poole to Guernsey yesterday was running early, but on social media islanders were commenting that as the vessel left St Peter Port bound for Jersey, the speed dropped from 35 knots to 23 knots.
