Dead man's sister calls for answers
THE sister of one of four patients of Alderney doctor Rory Lyons, whose deaths are being investigated by police, said she had begged the Health and Social Services Department to act for almost a year.
Brenda Webb, 61, was heartbroken when her brother, Colin Cosheril, pictured, died aged 63, last year.
He was admitted into the Mignot Hospital on 5 May and died there on 9 May, with heart failure given as the primary cause.
She believes that her brother should have been taken to Guernsey for specialist heart treatment.
Dr Lyons has been suspended from practice by the General Medical Council while they investigate a complaint against him.
Ten police officers flew over from Guernsey last Thursday to conduct a raid on the Eagle Medical Practice as part of a criminal investigation into the Irish-born GP.
In the aftermath of her brother's death, which happened when he was under the overall care of Dr Lyons, Mrs Webb wrote to the HSSD several times asking for her brother's medical records to be released and requested that a post mortem be carried out, which it was.
She still has not seen the records or the post mortem examination results and says there are many questions as yet left unanswered.
