Minister 'humbled' by La Mare support
CONFIDENCE is lacking over whether the States will finally go ahead with the £60m. La Mare rebuild, the Education minister has said.
Deputy Robert Sillars, pictured, was speaking the day before the States once again debates plans to press ahead with the long-awaited redevelopment of the school.
While he said the outcome was not clear-cut, on the plus side, the public seemed to agree with his department.
'I am absolutely humbled by more than 100 emails that have been sent to us and other deputies, and I have not seen one which supports the reduction in school numbers,' he said.
'This has highlighted the huge responsibility I feel for our education going forward, the huge responsibility of getting it right and the consequences of getting it wrong.'
