Alderney's St Anne's best in Britain bid

ST ANNE'S pupils, teachers and the Alderney community are being asked to sign up to a series of pledges to make the school 'the best in Britain'.

The school's interim head teacher, Geoff Cowley, worked with pupils to draw up the charters as part of his bid to improve the school.

Each charter pledges that the student, teacher and resident of the wider community 'accepts their responsibility' to making St Anne's the best in Britain.

Last week Mr Cowley announced he would stay on in Alderney until Christmas to give sufficient time to recruit the right person for the head teacher role.
