Over the next few years all States-maintained schools will be inspected against the Education Scotland Framework, How Good is Our School?

A team of four inspectors visited St Sampson's High School in May and spent three days in school observing lessons, talking with students and looking at their work, engaging in talks with staff and parents, looking at school records and other documentation and scrutinising responses to the pre-validation questionnaires.

The inspectors praised the school for its strong leadership and confident and responsible students as well as its caring and nurturing environment and improving exam results.

'We are delighted that the inspectors recognised the many strengths of St Sampson's High School,' said head teacher Annabel Bolt.

A copy of the inspectors' full report can be downloaded from www.education.gg/inspections and via the school's website.
