Reviewing seafront changes 'complex', says Environment minister as Enough is Enough warns of more protests
NO CHANGES to the seafront layout could mean more protests, the Enough is Enough co-organiser has warned.
Ray Marshall pictured, was speaking after the second mass-protest of the year took place at the weekend, this time targetting the seafront traffic changes.
Mr Marshall said while the group estimated there were 600 people at last weekend's protest, a third of what they were at the earlier protest, it still showed a strength of public feeling.
But Environment minister Yvonne Burford said reviewing the seafront changes was complex. She was not at the protest as it was agreed that Chief Minister Jonathan Le Tocq, who is chair of the cross-departmental working group on harbour and seafront matters, would address questions. She was on the phone-in that morning.
'However, members of the public are more than welcome to contact me – to date I have only had 11 people do so directly, more or less evenly split in their opinions for and against.'
