TV mast dispute settled as land bought for £1m.
A DISPUTE over the future of the TV mast has been settled after the company which owns it bought the land it is on for £1m.

The matter had been due to be settled at an open planning meeting today, but in light of the purchase that has now been cancelled.
The lease of the existing tower's Rue du Preel site runs out next year.
It had been reported that the owner did not want it renewed. Due to the limited number of places from where the tower could transmit a good signal, Arqiva – which manages the UK TV and radio network – had struggled to find an alternative.
An open planning meeting last year delayed giving planning permission to building a 45m lattice tower to the southeast corner of nearby Frie Plaidy Reservoir over concerns that it could affect tree roots.
An Arqiva spokeswoman said the future of the mast had now been secured.
