'Plenty of time' to sort out Island Games accommodation

SIX years is plenty of time to organise a way of accommodating the thousands involved in the Island Games, the head of the Chamber of Commerce's hospitality and tourism subgroup has said.

As Guernsey announced plans to finalise a bid for the 2021 Games, putting up those who travelled over for the event was identified as the 'biggest hurdle to overcome' in staging it.

But Luke Wheadon, pictured, said that as the Games were not imminent, there was plenty of time to make plans.

'We are talking about quite a long lead-in time and I am sure we could put something together by then,' he said.
