Lynda Walker was accompanied by her daughter, Suzie Jacobs, who had travelled to the island especially for the occasion.

Mrs Walker was second to lay a wreath, behind the Bailiff Sir Richard Collas who carried out the duty on behalf of the people of Guernsey.

Her husband, Air Marshal Peter Walker, died suddenly on 6 September.

'Each year, the Lt-Governor lays a wreath at the St Peter Port War Memorial at Remembrance on behalf of Government House and its staff,' said the Lt-Governor's secretary and ADC Major Marco Ciotti.

'This year was no exception and today that duty was fulfilled by Mrs Walker.'
