Mums backing nursery funding
PRE-SCHOOL education is key to a child's independence, integration and preparations, parents have said, as they backed Education's plans to fund it.
Mothers at Hautes Capelles Primary School, were universal in their view that pre-school education was well worth the money and important for children ahead of their schooling.
Their backing for Education's proposals came days ahead of next week's debate on plans to provide 15 hours of pre-school education to three to four year olds.
The proposals are subject to an amendment led by Treasury minister Gavin St Pier that would delay the start of funding by a term, until January 2017, and introduce a cap to limit the families who could receive it.
Sophie Larbalestier, a child minder, said: 'I think it's really important, I would always suggest to parents to send their child to pre-school at some point before school.'
Jessica Nanninga, Kyla Domaille and Taryn Girard agreed it was important.
