GUERNSEY WATER customers will be charged for some 'non-core' services from January.

Historically the services, which include site visits for water supply/waste water connection queries, GPS surveys, and advice on drainage/surface water issues and designs, have been free of charge.
But from 1 January a charge of £160, £240 and a hourly rate of £40 will be enforced respectively.
Guernsey Water director of water services Steve Langlois said the new charges would not affect bills for standard water and waste water services.
