Public Services confirmed this morning that it had dismissed its claims against 3M Company and 3M United Kingdom plc after attempting to sue the manufacturer for up to £27m.
The claims, which related to the use of the firms' firefighting foam at Guernsey and Alderney airports, were dropped after two weeks of the five-week trial in London's High Court.
In a statement released this morning, Public Services said it had agreed to pay £1.4m. towards 3M's legal costs in defending the claim.
The island's own legal costs totalled around £6.6 million.
