Islands weather storm
GIANT waves flooded coastal areas, trees were torn down and debris was thrown over seawalls yesterday as Storm Imogen lashed Guernsey with hurricane-force winds that reached more than 70mph.

The storm battered the Channel Islands throughout the day and overnight, causing disruption throughout.
Ferry sailings and flights were cancelled, roads were closed and buses diverted.
A Guernsey Met Office spokesman said the wind was at its worst yesterday morning around 7.10am when gusts of up to 74mph – force 12 – were recorded.
A tide warning has been put in place for this evening at 7.25pm and again tomorrow morning at 7.43am.
