Loveridge Ward gets £14,000 state-of-the art birthing pool

EXPECTANT mothers now have the option to use a permanent birthing pool after money was raised for it by the Friends of Loveridge.

The pool has been installed in the Lavender Suite in Loveridge Ward at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.

As a permanent pool was not in place in the hospital before, a fundraising campaign began and the Friends of Loveridge worked to raise the £14,000 needed to buy the state-of-the art pool, from Active Birthpools. Previously an inflatable pool has been used and it is still available for women to use.

Friends of Loveridge was formed by parent members of Guernsey MSLC (Maternity Services Liaison Committee) to raise funds for the pool.
