B&Q looks at Sunday opening alongside pay review
B&Q is reviewing its opening hours in Guernsey following the deregulation of Sunday trading, although a spokesman said the hours would stay the same 'until further notice'.
The announcement comes at the same time as the company is proposing changes to its pay and rewards framework following a 12-month review nationally.
Proposals include the removal of a Sunday premium by treating the day the same as the other six days of the week.
The spokesman said the deregulation of Sunday trading in Guernsey had had no bearing on that consultation.
'Additionally, we are consulting on "hotspot" allowances for working at stores in specific locations, such as Guernsey,' he said.
B&Q was mindful that the review created a challenging situation for some and was continuing to consult on its proposals to compensate those affected.
He said the company's people were very important to B&Q, which was committed to being a good payer.
