'Keep fields' say Oatlands' neighbours
PEOPLE living near Oatlands are supportive of plans to develop it, but are keen for the fields by the site to remain.
An application has been submitted for the first phase of development.
This includes the refurbishment and extension of the restaurant, change of use for the areas above a vacant unit and extending the car park, which reduces the area for the 14-hole crazy golf.
Within the application it said the next phase will see the creation of a second courtyard.
This would be surrounded by new rural-style barns to house a state-of-the-art play barn, an interactive centre and a covered outdoor play area.
There will also be a nature reserve and it is envisaged that the overspill car park will become permanent.
Mick Crowther, 63, said he had 'never had a problem' with Oatlands. He has lived in Oatlands Lane for 25 years.
He said he would 'hate to see the fields go'.
