Neil Taylor was nominated by Nikki Harrison, who is now 29 and said Mr Taylor had been a teacher when she was at the school and had taught all three of her children as well.

He has spent his whole teaching career, spanning nearly two decades, at Vale Primary.

Mrs Harrison credits Mr Taylor with turning her youngest child into a little boy who loves school, is working hard and has lots of friends.

'This change has all been down to Mr Taylor,' she said.

'My son now has the confidence he needs to succeed.'

Mrs Harrison described how Mr Taylor had been absolutely fantastic and said she could not thank him enough for what he had done.
