She always puts her students and colleagues before herself in the school environment, according to her nominator, who would like to remain anonymous, and really sets a gleaming example of respect and gratitude to all around her.

She never gives up on her students and is always extremely encouraging, because she believes everyone should be able to reach their potential and achieve even more.

There needs to be more people like Ms Ace-Hopkins around because she is so caring and a delight to be with, her nominator said, adding that St Sampson's High was lucky to have someone this 'amazing' to help push it that extra mile, especially in GCSE years.

Put simply, Ms Ace-Hopkins means so much to the community and the school.

'Thank you Ms Ace-Hopkins, we really do appreciate you.'

* The nomination period for all 12 Pride of Guernsey Awards remains open until 30 June. Forms appear in paper or visit our dedicated sister website www.prideofguernsey.com/nominate
