Pride of Guernsey: 'Church always there when needed'
SHILOH CHURCH provides invaluable support for residents on the Pont Vaillant Estate.

For at least five years this has included funding a Christmas party that features Santa arriving by sleigh and the Salvation Army Band. It has also paid for the food and drink for the evening.
Christmas presents have been bought for about 80 children along with food hampers for all 48 homes.
Estate resident Joanne Terry said Shiloh provided help throughout the year, which was why she had nominated it for the OCS-sponsored award.
'Every Easter they supply eggs for all the estate children and on numerous occasions have done a person's entire weekly shopping when they have been unable to fund it themselves,' she said.
'On top of this, when one lady had her house affected by fire they housed her and helped to redecorate her house when it was ready for her to move back into.
'They are always there to help out if needed and I truly believe that they deserve this award,' said Mrs Terry, who has lived on Pont Vaillant for 25 years.
Everybody on the estate knew that Shiloh Church was prepared to offer assistance if the need arose, she added.
The nomination period for all 12 Pride of Guernsey Awards remains open until 30 June. Forms appear in paper or visit our dedicated sister website www.prideofguernsey.com/nominate
