Pride of Guernsey: 'A future leader of Guernsey'
A POTENTIAL future leader in Guernsey and beyond has been nominated for the Young Achiever of the Year Award by his assistant head teacher.

La Mare de Carteret High School Year 11 pupil Leon Collenette has been nominated by Dan Cleary for the Butterfield-sponsored award.
He praised 16-year-old Leon for his contributions to the school as well as the assistance he gives to other students.
Mr Cleary described Leon as 'one of the best student leaders that we have seen in my time at La Mare de Carteret High School and has the respect of his peers for his quiet, calm presence'.
Mr Cleary said Leon is a clear leader and inspires other students through his actions.
'His contributions this year in working as part of the Junior Leadership Team alongside other student leaders has been exemplary and was best exhibited in his co-planning of an end of term awards day for the school and speaking in assembly.
'Leon is sure to be a future leader in Guernsey and beyond and we are proud to have supported him in his personal leadership journey.'
