Pride of Guernsey: 'Heart-warming young man who deserves some credit'
A NINE-YEAR-OLD who has supported and fundraised for his friend Anthony McMahon deserves credit for his caring, thoughtful nature.

Jack McGrath was nominated by family friend Gill Ogier for the Young Achiever of the Year Award, which is in partnership with Butterfield.
Ten-year-old Anthony was born with a condition which means his legs and hips are not aligned properly.
He is currently in Florida after undergoing corrective surgery to extend his left leg in an operation paid for by islanders.
Mrs Ogier said Jack became friends with Anthony when they started infants school and both now attend Notre Dame du Rosaire Primary.
When a fundraising initiative began, she said Jack wholeheartedly became involved in raising money.
'Jack baked cakes, had PJ days.
'He did the Santa Fun Run, not running with the pack, but with Anthony,' she said.
Mrs Ogier said he did a very successful job and earned lots of money to help his friend.
'He has a unique empathy for someone so young.'
She said that since Anthony has been in the USA, Jack has frequently spoken to him over video call service FaceTime.
'He can't wait to have him back here for them to play football together.
'Jack is a heart-warming young man who deserves some credit for his caring, thoughtful nature,' Mrs Ogier said.
The nomination period for all 12 Pride of Guernsey Awards remains open until 30 June. Forms appear in paper or visit our dedicated sister website www.prideofguernsey.com/nominate
